Over the course of the last 12 years, the PRG has evolved from a small guide compiled for a rehabilitative program within the Tennessee DOC, to a mammoth 180-page catalog of resources for prisoners nationwide. With over 1,500 organizations listed (we got tired of counting), the PRG is sure to have something for even the most discerning prisoner and his or her family!
Of the 10 inmate resource guides listed on Amazon, ours is the only one published in 2023! If you have a loved one in prison, get your copy of this phenomenal book today. Or send one to someone you love on the inside ... they will be glad you did!

Disclaimer: I compiled the following guide in 2010 as a resource for the Therapeutic Community program at the Morgan County Correctional Complex in Wartburg, Tennessee. As editor of the prison newsmagazine Mountain Review, I continued with new editions each year through 2015, when I was transferred to the Northeast Correctional Complex in Mountain City,Tennessee. In 2016, I reacquired the original files (thank you, Sonya) to share with the prisoners and staff at NECX. Now, as president and founder of Covenant Concepts, I make this updated work available to prisoners nationwide.
The contact information listed originates from several different sources, most unaffiliated with the Department of Correction. As editor I cannot guarantee the existence, reliability, or services of any entities listed herein, nor does Covenant Concepts endorse, support, or validate any of the information in this guide. Nothing in this guide should be construed as reflecting Covenant Concepts' policies or the views of our staff.
Preface: Much of the time it can feel as though we live in a vacuum. The world outside seems to have forgotten we exist or can seem cold and distant. But despite how we may feel, there are outside institutions, organizations, and programs designed to help prisoners in almost every conceivable way.
The following is an organized list of contact information I have received over the years from various sources. I have tried to divide them up into categories for your convenience.
Agency names and addresses, staff members, phone numbers, and website addresses change. I have tried to eliminate multiple entries for the same business, and, when possible, I have included my records of when contact information was posted, validated, and updated. If you attempt to contact one of the resources in this guide and it is not current, please do your very best to obtain the current information through a friend or family member. They might utilize phone information or an internet search engine, such as Google.
To perpetuate the value of this document, please report any incorrect, incomplete, or out-of-date information in this resource guide, and any updated information you have, to the editor at the addresses on the left. Such information has been very helpful in keeping the Prisoner Resource Guide current.
I hope you find information helpful to your particular circumstance.
